The drivers and commanders brief, dismount types, and vehicle formations for moving, halting and hiding.

00DRIVERS AND COMMANDERS BRIEF
TIMINGSMust be adhered to.
ROUTE AND FMNSKnow the route. Know the red, amber and green areas.
GROUPING AND SPACINGSOP: 50 m on A and B roads and tracks. 100 m on motorways.
COMMSFrequency of the convoy channel. Vehicle numbers.
OOMConfirm the vehicle in front and the vehicle behind.
SPEED LIMITSSOP: 30–50 km/h in urban areas and on A and B roads. 80 km/h on motorways.

  • Each vehicle sits at 45° across the road, which minimises the vehicle target area
  • Arcs remain the same
  • The front and rear vehicles act as control points

  • Small admin area in the centre, where the command vehicle sits
